About ChetYod

Hi, my name is Chai Block and ChetYod is my home for a collection of interesting facts, stories and anything else that’s not very well known.

The name is made up of the two Hebrew letters, Chet and Yod, which make up my name, Chai, which is the male verb for life in Hebrew, and is also used for the number 18.  In it’s written form it’s a lucky symbol which is worn by millions of people of different faiths around the world.  Bellow is a fine example in Eilat stone (copper stone), which is where I was born:

I was inspired to start this blog because of the many facts I’ve learned through both watching the Qi television show (hosted by Stephen Fry), and through the website:

If you have any ideas for interesting topics I can look into and write about, feel free to leave me a comment (and keep it clean).

Have fun browsing my site.

    Hi Chai,

I miss the good old days of PCHA – Kidner taking the fall for Nish…..gees that bloke was a classic, and the rest of the characters : yourself, Beena, Jean, Raj, Lesley… hell, that was one of the best 9months of my working life.

I still crack up at your story of being stranded on an airforce base in Germany…..not sure if I’ve got the details right as I was never the same after those turbo-shandys!

    Take it easy,
